Good win for the 1s (aren't they all) 6-5 v Slough. If they learnt to keep their mouths shut and how to score tries when they create overlaps, they would win more games a lot easier than they found todays.

if we did that stan you would have nothing to write about on here! Big grin
Can I also please say a big thank you on behalf of the team to all those who came to watch and cheer us on Clap the away support clearly out numbered the home support and it does give us that extra little bit to get to the next tackle or dive on a bobbling ball. Thank you again and see you all next week Wink

Well done lads.Good win.
You had four penalties, either reversed or 10 yards added, due to back chat to the ref.
You will find the game easier if you keep your mouths shut.
Now beat Milton Keynes next week, but do it quietly!!

The key to not getting binned apears to be punching back.

I thought we did ok as you can only beat the 15 in front of you. However Slough had 4 3rd team players in the back line a vet in the 2nd row and the vets captain on the bench.
We had 2 or 3 chances to score and didnt take them ,we must be more clinical in our finishing and not waste easy chances.

Andy, your wrong. The pack was more or less their first team pack....missing an option in the 2nd row, who normally starts on the bench. And the backs were their first team back line.

It was a good win, seeing the situation that we're in....but we all know that it should have been over by the end of the first half...and we need to get that right

Completly agree with nic. we could of killed the game off well before but lets take the positives from the game. We were under some real pressure for the last 15 minutes but we held them out with true grit and determination. Also it just shows that alll teh work that we have done on defense for teh past 2/3 weeks has been worth it. We need to take this on to the Milton keynes game and then forward onto the three games after xmas which we can take points from. Further thanks has to go to the support that we had from everyone because there was no way we would have pulled it off without them.

Guys one thing I would add. We've got to have more options in the lineout. We can't use Colm for every call as the opposition soon works out where the ball is going and we lose the advantage. I'm not sure if anyone else noticed but when Colm was sin binned for being smacked in the face (weired), Pencil started winning the lineout ball and did a very good job too. Let's have the confidence of using a second jumper.
