Gosford All Blacks 2nd XV 0 - 99 Amersham & Chiltern 3rd XV

Gosford All Blacks 2nd XV 0 - 99 Amersham & Chiltern 3rd XV

Chiltern 3rd XV managed to turn up on time, have a full bench of subs, conduct a productive warm up and were supported by management in the form of Huw Thomas and Pete Gibson this week. The result of this – a 0-99 win against Gosford All Blacks.

Now, with 99 points being scored in total, I have no idea who actually got all these points! I believe Will Grey scored 4 tries and kicked 7 conversion. James Hogan grabbed a brace, Teddy Reus, Will Smyth, Dave Robertson, Lurch, Chris Fletcher all definitely got at least one. I think Jimmy Dye, Ross Bugden and Tom Smalley may have grabbed the rest.

Man of the Match nominated from the touchline – James Hogan

Special mentions to:

Jimmy Dye who remained focused on playing with structure despite the emphatic score line.

Ross Wilson who looked dangerous when he came off the bench, attacking with pace and awareness.

Gosford All Blacks who, despite having to go to uncontested scrums towards the end, stuck it out well.

Highlights of the day:

1.       Chris Fletcher’s try – with about 5 meters left to the line, Chris appeared to faint at the prospect of crossing the whitewash. Luckily, the pitch had a slight slope in that corner and he rolled the remaining distance over the try line.

2.       Dan Crehan’s magic trick – we’re all used to seeing magicians pull rabbits from hats but Dan has his own take on this – he pulled a pair of black ladies undies from his kit bag after the game. Could have claimed it was from some hot female he had got off with but transpired it may just be a pair of his mum’s or sister’s!
